JEE Mains 2024 Session 2 Questions Dropped, Final Answer Key: The National Testing Agency (NTA) today released the final answer key for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024, session 2 for paper 1. In this release, they have declared that four questions have been dropped from the final answer key for the session 2 exam.

What if questions are dropped?
For Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), if none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped then full marks will be awarded to all candidates who have appeared irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.
If all options are found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question. Similarly, if more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
Similarly, for numerical value questions, if a question is found to be incorrect or the question is dropped then four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question. The reason could be due to human error or technical error.
During this year’s session one JEE Main exam, a total of six questions were dropped. Of these, five were from the second shift and one was from the first shift. In the second shift, three questions were dropped from mathematics and two from physics. In the first shift, only one physics question was dropped.
The provisional answer key for the paper one exam was released on April 12, 2024. Candidates had time until April 14, 2024 to challenge the answer key. The National Testing Agency (NTA) reviewed these challenged questions before releasing the final answer key today.

Based on the final answer key, NTA is expected to release the JEE Mains session 2 results by tomorrow. Students who rank under 2.5 lakh will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam 2024, which will be conducted on May 26.
