Punjab Board Class 10th Result 2025: Overall 95.61% students pass, 3 girls score 100% | Education News

The Punjab School Examination Board (PSEB) chairman, Amarpal Singh, on May 16 announced the Class 10 exam results at a press conference held in their Mohali office. The PSEB Class 10 result 2025 is available for the students on the official website – pseb.ac.in. Overall, 95.61 per cent of students have passed the exam with three girls scoring perfect 100 per cent this year. Last year, the pass percentage was 97.24 per cent.

The students who appeared for the PSEB Class 10 exams can check and download their marksheet from the official website using login credentials such as their roll number, application number, and registration number.

This year, the PSEB conducted the Class 10 board exams between March 10 and April 4.

The pass percentage for the PSEB Class 10 exams has shown a gradual decline over the past five years. In 2021, the board recorded an exceptionally high pass percentage of 99.93%, likely due to alternative assessment methods during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the following years, the percentages dropped slightly, with 97.94% in 2022, 97.54% in 2023, and 97.24% in 2024. In 2025, the pass percentage further declined to 95.61%, indicating a steady return to regular evaluation standards and traditional examination methods.

In the PSEB Class 10 results 2025, government school students in Punjab recorded a pass percentage of 95.47%, with 1,76,605 out of 1,84,984 students passing the exam. Among non-government (private) schools, 73,649 students appeared and 71,412 passed, resulting in a higher pass rate of 96.96%. In aided schools, 17,531 out of 19,113 students cleared the exam, registering a pass percentage of 91.72%.

Region-wise, urban areas saw a pass percentage of 94.71%, with 92,368 students passing out of 97,524. In rural areas, the pass rate was slightly higher at 96.09%, with 1,73,180 out of 1,80,222 students successfully clearing the exam.

The overall pass percentage last year was 97.24 per cent. The pass percentage last year dropped slightly from 2023. In 2023, a total of 2,81,327 students appeared for the Punjab Board class 10 exams 2023 of which 2,74,378 passed, recording an overall pass percentage of 97.54 per cent per cent.

In 2023, the overall pass percentage was two per cent lower than 2022. As many as 653 students had failed to clear the exam and 6,171 had to re-appear. 

As per the data released by the state board, in 2024 over 297,048 students appeared for the Punjab Board Class 10 exam, which was conducted over 3,808 exam centers. The girls once again performed better than the boys. The overall pass percentage for girls was 98.11 per cent whereas boys accomplished a percentage of 96.47 per cent. A total of 394 students failed to pass the class 10 exam, which is 0.14 per cent of the total students.

Aditi from Ludhiana was the PSEB class 10 topper scoring 100 per cent. Alisha Sharma of Ludhiana and Karmanpreet Kaur of Amritsar secured second positions in the state with 99.23 per cent marks.
