Maharashtra: Over 2.5 lakh students yet to confirm FYJC admissions in first round | Education News

Over 2.5 lakh students across the state are yet to confirm their admissions to First Year Junior Colleges (FYJC) in the first round, even as the deadline for the same will end on Monday.

A total of 3,81,331 students have confirmed their seats, according to data shared by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Another 77,209 students have been already admitted under the three available quotas.

As many as 6,32,194 students were allotted seats in junior colleges out of the total 10,66,005 applicants, in the first round. Out of this, 2,50,863 students are yet to confirm their admissions.

As per the data, 80,858 students confirmed their seats in the Mumbai region closely followed by 79,417 students in the Pune region. This includes quota and CAP admissions.

Additionally, 29 junior colleges in the state saw 100 per cent seat allotment after the first round. 2,489 junior colleges saw an allotment between 80 per cent and 99 per cent after the first round.

As many as 1,888 colleges saw 60 per cent to 79 per cent seat allotment after the first round. A total of 3505 colleges saw 40 per cent to 59 per cent seat allotment, while 10,278 recorded 1 per cent to 39 per cent seat allotment.
