The University of Delhi has informed students enrolled in four-year undergraduate programmes that they can opt to exit after completing six semesters (three years). Candidates who plan to submit their intent will get a 3-year degree for multi-core discipline programmes or an Honours degree for single-core discipline programmes, as applicable.
Students interested in availing the option can log in to the University’s student portal at slc.uod.ac.in and submit their intent through the online process.

The University, in the notification, mentioned that it encourages eligible students to carefully evaluate their academic and career goals before making a decision and recommends consulting with their teachers and mentors to ensure informed decision-making. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises providing multiple entry and exit points in higher education, thereby offering students enhanced autonomy over their educational pathways.
Meanwhile, the University on Tuesday announced providing a special examination opportunity for students who missed their semester exams in May 2025 due to disruptions caused during Operation Sindoor.
In an official statement released on July 1, Professor Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, Controller of Examinations, said that affected undergraduate and postgraduate students from the 2024–25 academic year can reappear for their missed exams. The exams were originally scheduled on May 13, 14, and 15.
“All concerned students are informed that the last date to submit the Google Form for the special examinations is July 10, 2025 (Thursday), by 11:59 pm,” the university said in its notification.
