The deadline for applications to diploma of arts courses has been extended to July 5 by the Directorate of Art of Maharashtra. The original application schedule laid out that applications could be submitted from June 7 to June 20. However, according to the new schedule, applications can be submitted till July 5.
The provisional first admission list will be published on July 8. Applicants will be able to submit grievances to the first application list till July 9 after which the final selection list will be published on July 14. Applicants will be able to confirm their admissions at colleges from July 15 to July 18.
Students who have passed Class 10 exams (SSC) are eligible to apply for these courses that are offered for a duration of three years. These include Diplomas in Applied Art, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture and Modeling, Art and Craft–Interior Decoration, Art and Craft–Textile Design (Printing and Dyeing), Art and Craft–Textile Design (Weaving), Art and Craft–Ceramics and Pottery, and Art and Craft–Metal Craft.
The rules for eligibility, admissions, and curriculum were changed by the state government this month. Similarly, admission rules for diploma courses like engineering, hotel management and catering, pharmacy, surface coating technology, etc. were also tweaked by the Higher and Technical Education Department earlier in May. The Central Admission Process for these courses will have four rounds instead of three from 2025-26 onwards.
