Mumbai University will release the second merit list for its undergraduate courses today. Candidates who applied for the UG course can check merit list 2 at the official website – mu.ac.in. Students who had applied for courses like BA, BCom, BSc, BMS, BAF, BMM, BBI and BFM, among others, can check if they have secured a seat.
Candidates who have been chosen are required to complete the document verification process and fee payment. Students must carry their original documents and photocopies of:
–Class 12 marksheet
–Caste or category certificate (if any)
–Transfer and Leave Certificate
–Passport-size photographs
–Identity proof
The first merit list was released May 27. Students who could not secure a seat in the first and second merit lists will have to wait for the third merit, scheduled to be released on June 5. Each list will be followed by a document verification and fee payment window of two to three days. Students will also have the chance to upgrade their college or course preference.
This year, Mumbai University has received more than 8.1 lakh applications with students applying for admission to various courses of their choice. Of these, 3.80 lakh applications have been received for commerce and allied courses offered by MU and its affiliated colleges. In the arts stream, fewer than 50,000 applications have been received for the traditional BA course.
This year, several courses in Mumbai University and its affiliated colleges have seen considerable drop in cut-off scores, especially traditional degree courses such as BA, BCom and BSc. At St. Xavier’s College, which is known for its Arts programmes, the first merit list cut-off for this year is 90 per cent, marking a considerable drop from last year’s 92.33 percent.
