The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the application deadline for candidates who want to appear for the CUET UG 2025 accountancy re-test. The deadline has been extended from May 23 to May 24.
Designed with the help of subject matter experts, the revised pattern introduces a choice in the Accountancy paper, allowing candidates to answer questions from either Unit V: Computerised Accounting Systems or an optional unit.

In the previous structure, Unit V was mandatory, which placed some candidates — especially those less familiar with computerised accounting — at a disadvantage. The updated format is intended to offer flexibility and align the exam with students’ areas of strength.
Candidates who opt in for the retest but do not show up will be marked ‘absent’, and no marks will be awarded for the subject.
The eligible candidates – or those who appeared for the Accountancy paper from May 13 to 16 – will be given the option to either retain their original scores or appear for a retest under a revised exam pattern.
“Candidates who have already appeared for the Accountancy paper during 13th to 16th May 2025 will be given an opportunity to either retain their examination or to re-appear in the revised question paper pattern,” the statement read.
In case no response is received within stipulated time, the scores obtained in the test conducted during 13th to 16th May 2025 shall be considered as final score, the agency said.
